Agora só me falta ganhar ritmo, pois as ideias fervilham.

The week started well when Olinda Gil, from A Casa do Alfaiate, made a list of the 5 Writers Blogs she enjoys most and told me that Caneta Papel e Lápis was there! Thank you for mentioning this blog, Olinda.
I can’t really say that the week was very productive in terms of writing because I dedicated my time more to reading and sorting out my life.
What didn’t help was the fact that I didn’t have much enthusiasm in picking up the Super-Hero short-story I was working on, not because the story wasn’t interesting anymore, but because that Aha! Moment was gone and I decided it was best, first of all, to know the characters and only then go back to writing the story.
But it wasn’t even on that I focused this week, because I made up my mind of trying my luck with the Lisboa ElectroPunk anthology. Still, I decided to go about a little different that I had the previous year. As I had said before, the guidelines suffocated my ideas, so I made the decision not to read them again. I still recall most of the general lines of the contest, so I decided to first write the short-story I have in mind and only afterwards reread the guidelines and adjust the details I don’t recall.
So I started writing the story, untitled as of yet. I like the idea and what I wrote so far which wasn’t as much as I’d hoped, but next week I’m counting on writing it out (luckily finishing it). Even if I’m not selected for the anthology, it’s one more short-story after all.
In the meantime I also read about a few more anthologies (all from Brasil) and some ideas flourished. If everything goes according to plan I’ll spend January and February immersed in short-stories. Now all that I’m missing is some rhythm because the ideas are bubbling up.
