Semanário 147 (Weekly 147)

Ideias fresquinhas!
Enchi o meu caderno de ideias com … ideias. Na semana anterior julgo ter falado na vontade de participar em várias antologias, mas me faltavam ideias. Pois esta semana a coisa resolveu-se com uma afluente de ideias. Foi bastante simples. O truque acabou por ser usar o que já conhecia, ou seja, as minhas personagens e os mundos que criei, escrevendo contos paralelos (no passado, presente ou futuro) à trama original de alguns do meus romances (alguns já escritos e outros por escrever). Isto resulta em que, não só em sinta mais familiarizada com as personagens e o mundo, como me permite contar histórias que  por um motivo ou outro acabaram/acabarão por não entrar no romance principal.
Para já ainda não vou revelar quais as histórias escolhidas, mas posso já dizer que tenho ideias para contos baseados nos romances: “Alma“, “No Limiar da Vida“, “Não Apodreças nos meus Braços“, “Dragões e seus Sacrifícios” e “PFA“.
Além disso tive outras ideias em nada relacionadas com os meus romances e só espero ter tempo e disponibilidade para os trazer todas ‘à vida’.

No sábado teve lugar mais um encontro de escritores (amadores e não só) do Norte, no Costa’s do aeroporto Sá Carneiro. Dois novos membros juntaram-se à equipa e só espero que não se tenham assustado. 🙂
Para quem não sabe, estes encontros no segundo sábado de cada mês, normalmente no Porto no Guarany (embora por vezes o local se altere e há a possibilidade de encontros em Braga). Quem quiser aparecer, será sempre bem-vindo!

E durante o passado encontro acabei por não escrever nada no PC, já que saquei do bloco e estive a estruturar o conto que, se tudo correr bem, irei submeter à antologia “A Fantástica Literatura Queer“. Vamos ver se consigo terminá-lo antes do fim do mês, quando ainda nem o comecei.

Para terminar, algures a meio da semana uma lâmpada se acendeu no meu cérebro e o calendário piscou. O ScriptFrenzy está a chegar e eu já estou a stressar. Este ano estava decidida a dedicar-me à escrita dum guião de BD em Março, para finalmente sair vitoriosa no desafio irmãozinho do NaNoWriMo, mas com tantos contos a implorarem para serem escritos e tantas outras coisas para fazer, receio que nem este ano seja possível. Março não é mesmo um bom mês para mim, mas vou tentar.

Fresh ideas!
I filled my idea notebook with … ideas. Last week I believe I told you of my wish to participate in several anthologies, but also my lack of ideas. So this week things changed with a wave of ideas. It was pretty simple. The trick was to use what I already knew, in other words, the characters and worlds I had created, writing parallel short-stories (that take place in the past, present or future) for my novels (some already written, others not). This means I feel more comfortable with the setting and the characters, which also allows me to tell stories that, for one reason of the other, never made it/will make it to the final novel.
For now I won’t reveal which stories I chose to tell, but I can tell you that the short-stories are ased on the following novels: : “Alma“, “No Limiar da Vida (On the Edge of Life)“, “Não Apodreças nos meus Braços (Don’t Rot in my Arms)“, “Dragões e seus Sacrifícios (Dragons and their Sacrifices)“ e “PFA“.
Besides these, I had other ideas not related to any of my novels and  I only hope to have time to get ‘bring them all to life’

On Saturday another writers’ from the North meeting took place, in Costa’s at the airport in Oporto. Two new members joined in and we only hope they didn’t get scared away. 🙂
To those unaware, these meeting take place every second Saturday of every month, usually in Oporto at Guarany’s (although sometimes the location changes and there’s the possibility some meetings will be in Braga). Anyone is welcome!

And during that meeting I wound up not writing anything on my laptop, as I used only my notebook to write down the structure for the short-story I intend on submitting to the anthology “A Fantástica Literatura Queer“. We’ll see if I can finish it before the end of the month, even not having yet started it.

As a final note, somewhere in the middle of last week a lamp light up in my brain and the calendar flicked. ScriptFrenzy is around the corner and I’m already stressing about it. This year I had every intention on dedicating time to writing a graphic novel script, and finally be victorious on NaNoWriMo’s bother challenge, ScriptFrenzy, but with so many short-stories lined up for writing ad so many things to do, I fear it will be another failure in that department. March really isn’t a great month for me.
